April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2016; Los Angeles, CA; Los Angeles Jazz & Arts Festival and Dysonna City Art Gallery are teaming up again in 2016 for a special series of events to benefit the Festival’s jazz education programs. Five nights of "Rhythms and Art" events will take place at Dysonna City Art Gallery, and are hosted by Donna Dyson. Each event will feature Hors d’oeuvres, local wines, with special jazz-inspired desserts and served during a live jazz performance every Saturday in April, from 7-9 p.m. To kick off the month, we have amazing guitarist, Daryl Darden for a stellar performance on April 2nd.
Musician Daryl Darden is an extraordinary guitarist and vocalist out of St. Louis, Missouri. With over 47 years in the music industry, Daryl has established a household name alongside legendary greats such as George Benson, Bobby Blue Bland, BB King, Albert King, and Richard Groove Holmes. Daryl is recognized as one of the most versatile Guitarist of our time. He has a pleasant upbeat personality with the adaptability to work cohesively with any musician or artist.
We are kicking it into high gear and getting you ready for another evening of amazing music and art! Our featured musician for our 2nd show will be none other than the amazing Dejah Gomez!
As a sought after background vocalist, Dejah fuses her diverse experience of singing with the likes of Trumpeter Christ Botti, Michael Bolton, Smokey Robinson and the legendary Stevie Wonder and Marvin Hamlisch as her colorful canvas illustrating an enviable resume. Her credits also include world tours with Stevie Wonder, Michael Bolton, Jennifer Hudson, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ “Diddy Dirty Money” and performing for the President and Mrs. Obama at the White House and backing renowned artists Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Al Green, Chaka Kahn, Faith Hill, Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Clint Black, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Glenn Campbell and others during live telecasts for the Grammy’s, American Idol, Home for the Holidays and An Evening with the Stars.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will support the Art. Keep Creating Art education programs.

“We want to continue this wonderful collaboration with Dysonna City Art Gallery and Art. Keep Creating Art in fostering jazz, art and awareness of all of our programs for youth education,” said Donna Dyson. Celebrating the 4th Anniversary of the Art. Keep Creating Art, education initiative of the Los Angeles Jazz arts Festival, Dysonna will be working towards creating workshops for the youth in jazz and art.
Dysonna City Art Gallery is supporting Art. Keep Creating Art with art and music scholarships.
